Back to Window Design

This trade show showcase was designed around a central spatial concept that allowed four distinct footwear brands to coexist within one room while remaining clearly differentiated.

I developed the overall concept and display design, defining how each brand would occupy the space. The physical execution was carried out by an external agency, following the design direction provided.

Concept: The Crossroads

The layout was planned with four brands positioned at the four corners of the room, anchored by a central vertical structure conceived as a crossroads or junction.

This central element acted as:

  • A visual anchor within the space
  • A natural pause point for visitors
  • A navigational reference, allowing clear orientation toward each brand zone

Much like a junction where different paths meet, the design allowed visitors to stand at the center and visually access all four brands at once, making movement through the space intuitive and unforced.

Display Strategy

  • Each corner was treated as an individual brand environment with its own display language
  • Wall systems, shelving formats, and proportions were customised to suit the footwear and brand identity
  • Clear sightlines were maintained from the central junction to every brand wall
  • Central tables and freestanding elements supported product focus without blocking circulation

The intent was to let visitors navigate by instinct, rather than signage.

Spatial & Visual Language

  • Material and colour shifts helped subtly define each brand zone
  • Backdrops and textures created contrast while maintaining overall cohesion
  • Lighting was designed to evenly illuminate footwear while reinforcing brand boundaries
  • The central junction remained visually neutral, allowing the surrounding brands to stand out

Execution & Collaboration

I provided the conceptual framework, display layouts, and visual guidelines, while an external agency handled the on-ground build and installation. Close coordination ensured the spatial logic and display intent were maintained through execution.

Outcome

The final installation functioned as a clear, navigable trade show environment where multiple footwear brands could be viewed independently or collectively. The crossroads concept enabled strong brand presence, efficient movement, and a memorable spatial experience within a shared exhibition footprint.
