Zivame
Assistant Manager - Visual Merchandising | 2019–2022
Retail Brand Identity · Visual Merchandising · Store Design & Operations
At Zivame, I worked as the sole Visual Merchandiser, responsible for shaping and executing the brand's physical retail identity across stores. Over a three-year period, I led everything from window concepts and in-store storytelling to new store rollouts, display guidelines, and daily VM operations.
This role went far beyond styling. I built systems, visual rules, and spatial logic that allowed the brand to scale consistently across locations.
Scope of Work
Developed the retail visual identity for Zivame stores
Planned and executed window displays and in-store focal zones
Designed category-wise display logic for lingerie, activewear, and sleepwear
Led new store VM setup from empty shell to launch
Created display guidelines and VM SOPs for consistency
Oversaw execution, maintenance, and operational VM across stores
Retail Design & VM Philosophy
Lingerie retail demands clarity, comfort, and confidence. My approach focused on making the store feel approachable, organised, and intuitive, while still aspirational.
Every wall, rack, and table was designed to help customers understand fit, function, and choice quickly.
Clear Category Zoning
Reduced overwhelm through intuitive spatial organization
Strong Colour Blocking
Enabled easy navigation and product comparison
Balanced Density
Maintained range visibility while preserving visual calm
Clean Symmetry
Built trust and order through structured bra walls
Relatable Styling
Approachable mannequin presentations, not intimidating
Category-Led Display Strategy
Each category was treated as its own micro-environment. This structure allowed the stores to handle large SKU volumes while staying visually calm and easy to shop.
Bras
Structured grids with consistent spacing, aligned by colour and function
Sports & Activewear
Clear differentiation by support level and activity type
Sleepwear & Loungewear
Softer palettes and folded storytelling for comfort cues
Feature Zones
Highlighted hero styles and new launches without disrupting flow
End-to-End Ownership
As the solo VM, I owned the full lifecycle of visual merchandising. This hands-on ownership ensured consistency, speed, and quality across all locations.
Designed concepts
Executed displays on site
Trained teams on upkeep and standards
Updated layouts based on stock movement and seasonality
Ensured every store reflected the same brand language
