Go Native
2020 • Merchandise Display, Curation and Visual Styling
This project involved designing and executing merchandise displays for Go Native, a retail space housing multiple sustainable and artisanal brands. The work focused on thoughtful curation and visual storytelling, presenting handcrafted products in a way that felt intentional, accessible, and rooted in craft. The aim was to enhance the in-store experience while highlighting the uniqueness and eco-conscious values of each product.
Design Approach
Curation formed the foundation of the display strategy. Products were not treated as individual items but selected and grouped to create cohesive visual narratives. The layouts were planned around material, colour, texture, and craft technique, allowing the story behind each product to come through clearly.
Focal zones across the store were curated as story-led displays, often inspired by festivals, seasons, or everyday rituals. These displays brought together apparel, jewellery, home décor, and lifestyle products, helping customers visualise how different pieces could work together. Styling remained minimal and earthy to stay aligned with Go Native's sustainable ethos.
Key Contributions
Curation
Curated products across categories to build story-driven displays based on craft, material, and cultural context. Each arrangement was designed to feel intentional and balanced, reinforcing the artisanal nature of the merchandise.
Merchandise Display
Planned and executed layouts that improved visual flow and ease of browsing. Products were organised to encourage discovery while maintaining clarity and order across the store.
Styling and Detailing
Used props, layering, and height variation to add depth and visual interest without overpowering the products. Styling choices highlighted texture, craftsmanship, and authenticity.
